This contributes to your degree. You will graduate with the hundreds of other students doing your exact degree in the year you enrolled… what sets you apart from others? What ensures you are employable? How will you illustrate your value when applying for a graduate role? It is what you’ve done outside the classroom. This will allow you to implement what you know in theory and build experience doing it in practice, regardless of whether you study business, engineering, science, international studies, medicine, health. agriculture, or humanities.
Alex Piatek has been involved with Project Everest Ventures for over twelve months, on five projects across three countries all while continuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, including a thesis:
“I started as a Trekker in the same position as you. Through love of this organisation and desire to build my leadership skills in those around me, I have been given opportunities to be responsible for up to forty-five people in Timor-Leste, managing four engineering based projects… I work with PEV full time now, all in less than a year”
